Mrs. Aquila Ismail completed her BE – Electrical from NED University of Engineering & Technology in 1975. She is a member of Pakistan Engineering Council, Institute of Engineers (Pakistan), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers of Pakistan. She has also acted as Dean of the department of Electrical Engineering in NED University of Engineering & Technology.

Mrs. Aquila Ismail completed her BE – Electrical from NED University of Engineering & Technology in 1975. She is a member of Pakistan Engineering Council, Institute of Engineers (Pakistan), Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers of Pakistan. She has also acted as Dean of the department of Electrical Engineering in NED University of Engineering & Technology.
After completing her graduation, she was appointed as Executive Engineer in the GLAXO Laboratories (Pakistan) Limited where she left in 1980 to pursue her passion of education and joined NED University of Engineering & Technology as lecturer under the Department of Electrical Engineering. Her career was very progressive as a teacher in the University where she acted as Assistant Professor from 1980 to 1997 and as Professor from 1997 to 2000. In addition to teaching she was also serving as Project Advisor for final year students where she participated and guided students for their final practical project submission comprises of thesis. She has been a member and chairperson of the Board of Studies – Department of Electrical Studies.

In addition she was also a member of the Board of Faculty which is directly chaired by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering. She has been a member of the Syndicate of the University for two terms (1987 to 1990 and 1993 to 1996) and has also acted as Member Senate of the University for three terms (1987 to 1996) The Senate is the highest authority of the University and is chaired by the Chancellor of the University. Since 2000 she has been part of the Orangi Pilot Project (OPP) and has acted as Chairperson of RTI (Research and Training Institute) for more than 10 years. From the incorporation of OPRCT in 2017 she has been acting as Vice Chairperson of the Company and participating in its affairs as non-executive director.
